a festival for lovers of the outdoors that is hosted at a different National Park each year.
National Park Festival is the embodiment of showing awareness of conservation and integration of land, wildlife, and humans. The National Park Festival is capturing these elements while also aiding in activities that continue to impact and give others a chance to learn more about National Parks within the country.
The festival also gives people a place to hang out and dive deep into conservations on why National Parks and the outdoors are such a big motivator within their lives. Whether you're at the festival for an adventure, hike, or a place to unwind with like-minded individuals you are still given the chance to experience beauty.
Here's a glimpse at some of the work that went into creating the branding, brochure, poster, and ticket for the National Park Festival. The coolest thing that is hidden within the branding is the grid system, which was formulated based on three different national park maps: Yellowstone, Glacier, and Yosemite. Additionally, the topographic map throughout the branding is from the Yellowstone terrain, which can change each year to match the unique land of each National Park. The moodboard and colors are representative of the past with aspects that build upon a new future that people can make with one another in these glorious places.
This was one of the first projects I had completed where I started to put the elements and principles of branding into full stride. The little details like the grid system or the topographic map are what make this branding specifically, so special to me. The nuggets of visual motifs that I can sprinkle throughout aid the goals.
Additionally, I learned what it took to create a layout that was consistent but interchangeable with specific information. Especially, if this is going to carry on year to year it was vital to create layouts and typography choices that would allow for similarities to be seen across all the deliverables that are provided to the audience.
